Our basketball teams got off to a winning start on Wednesday 9th Oct in their first group match against Castleblayney College.
The return of captain Alannah Lynch gave the U16 team a great boost and they stormed ahead from the beginning outscoring their opponents in every quarter. Scores from Christina Espina, Clodagh Caraher, Isobel Riquelme, Anna Mulholland, Aitana Ybarra, Rugile Jugaityte and Zoe Carolan all adding to the final tally.
Buoyed by the U16 teams’ success, the Senior team were determined to also make their mark. Captain Maedbh Thornton led by example with an impressive work rate and 14 points to her name. Other baskets from Niamh Lawrence, Mollie Kirk, Rhiannon Dolan, Caragh Kirk and Isobel Riquelme all helped St. Louis get over the line.
Well done to both teams on their fine display of determination and hard work. We are so proud of you all.
