As a Voluntary Secondary School, St Louis Dundalk is governed by a Board of Management. A new three year term starts on 16th Oct 2024.
Our current parent nominees, Geraldine Kirk and Oliver Lawrence are willing to continue for another term, however, if any other parent would like to be considered, please contact principal Michelle Dolan to put your name forward for election by parents. Deadline for this is Monday, 30th of September, at 4pm.
Parents are nominees and not just parent representatives, and as such are expected to work with the other Board members to find consensus and act as a coherent group. Other current members of the eight-person Board of Management include:
Vera O’Brien (Chair since 2023), Tim Ahern, John McCarthy, Sr. Maureen McShane & 2 Teacher nominees.
The Board of Management meets approximately 6-8 times a year to convene on school business, usually from 7:30-9:30pm and at times for a brief meeting to ratify decisions following recruitment of new staff. The school relies on the generosity of the volunteer Board to oversee the management and governance of the school.
