A huge well done to the Senior and u16 basketball teams who showed tremendous heart and determination against a well matched side from Colaiste Largy.
Both our teams narrowly missed out on victory in the Regional 1/4 final by the final whistle – the u16 team by the smallest possible margin. Having home advantage definitely helped the opposition on the day.
There were fine displays of athleticism from our girls throughout both matches- Zoe Carolan winning balls she had no right to! Captains Maedbh Thornton and Alannah Lynch leading as they always do by example and it was fantastic to have Grace Hoey back on the court where she belongs after missing previous matches due to injury.
Well done to all team members on their commitment, dedication and enthusiasm since the beginning of the year.
A special mention must be made to our dedicated 6th years who took a leap of faith when they were in first year and joined the basketball team. Even winning an All Ireland in 2022. They have inspired countless other Louis girls to do the same. It has been an absolute pleasure.
